I heart CANADA

When LOML first suggested i come to visit him in Vancouver, i was a bit apprehensive because:

1. Its gonna take me nearly 2 days of travel and i really do not like not having to shower for 2 days
2. I have to make the journey alone not to mention the hassle of getting a tourist visa when you are traveling alone
3. To make it worthwhile (damn tickets were expensive) i had to stay at least min. 3 weeks...i only have 20days leave/year

First and foremost, VISA. No VISA NO GO and i aint talking about a credit card here. Do your research online at Canada Immigration Website, read read read, then go to your specific country's embassy's page, read all the instructions, download all the forms and follow exactly what the forms prescribed and requested and you'll be fine.

Pusing2 Bikin Pening Part 4 - Final

Day 4 (Tuesday)

Woke up late. Around 10am went to Mangga 2 ITC. A bit like Tanah Abang with lower quality stuff. But cheaper ofcourse. Was sent there by a Bluebird taxi so arrange for him to pick us up at the hotel ard 1pm for airport transfer. He said it should be ard 80k with meter which was cheaper than what the taxi driver last nite quoted - 120k. So we booked two as our luggage was overspilling. From Mangga 2 ITC we went to Mangga 2 WTC. Just to kill time. Met a lovely Indian couple who owns a shop there and also a factory. Chit chat for while, had lunch at A&W and heads back to hotel.

Pusing2 Bikin Pening Part 3

Day 3 (Monday)

Pick up was at 7am. But left hotel around 8am. One member overslept..stop at rest area along the highway to have breakfast. Had bakso, was not that bad. There's a factory outlet here too for a preview shopping :D

Reach Bandung around 11am and head straight to Rumah Mode at Jalan Setiabudi. Soooooo beautiful...the garden, the decor, very nice..I Like. I like the inside better. Went crazy for 3 hours esp. in the kids section (Ralph Lauren, Guesskids etc). I like the variety and the set up of this FO best. Many branded items (Armani, CK, Ed Hardy, Esprit, Guess) and well displayed. Definitely the best FO.

Pusing2 Bikin Pening Part 2

Day 2 (Sunday)

Decided to call the Silverbird contact person at the airport to confirm tomorrow's trip to Bandung with the family rate and negotiated a car+driver for today for a drive around Jakarta. Was quoted 500k rupiah all in except parking fees. Agreed and pick up was at 12noon.

First stop was Tanah Abang Mall. Wow!! That is all i can say. Bought some baju, bags for parents and siblings. Reminder to self, must not bring mum here or will be stuck forever in this place. 15 storeys of cheap and beautiful goods...luckily we made a list of what to get, managed to eat only around 3pm. Foodcourt was very nice and clean. They have a card system to pay for the food. U deposit money in the card (available at cashier) then go order food from stalls which will swipe your card and deduct the cost from it. Once u finish eating you can retrieve your balance from the cashier. Yummy Lontong here and the Bakso was okay.

(shoppinggggggggggggg....)

(very impressed with the foodcourt card system...)

A Walk To Remember

Last June, when love of my life came over to Miri, we decided to go to Niah Caves. Why? Because we are both Sarawakian and have yet to set foot on the infamous cave whom travelers around the world cross oceans to visit, so we were a little bit embarassed by that fact. Especially me since i now reside in Miri. Besides, Miri has nothing better to offer to tourist except Niah and Mulu Caves. I AM SERIOUS, unless you count Esplanade Beach at Luak but that beach is not for swimming!

Anyways, after much negotiations, we managed to haul ourselves out of bed and get out of the house by 11am. A short stop for bfast at Kaya and Toast, still deliberating if we should make the trip since it's already late. On my part, the hesitation is because i really dont know how to get there (but HE doesnt know this =)), after a few phone calls for directions, we were on our way!! FINALLY...

Kayaking in Sarawak

The last time i paddled a canoe was when i was in my 2nd year of Uni in Adelaide. Part of my semester's subject which to pass you had to go on a 2 day canoeing/camping trip. It was not funny trying to navigate through fast current when you only learned how to canoe 2 hours before. So my hesitation was comprehendable when 'love of my life' suggests we go kayaking.

Jong's Crocodile Farm in Miri

Not my idea of a weekend fun but since it was Ryffa's school trip, i had to tag along. Now, i've been to Jong Crocodile's Farm in Kuching (also with Ryffa) and personally, i think the Miri branch has a better layout and also selection of animals. Crocs, birds, bears, porcupines etc.

It was all fine and dandy until we got to the performing stage and we saw this kid who seems to be posing with a baby croc, until we got closer and discovered it was actually a huge ass python. Needless to say, moa started running in the opposite direction. Snakes just bugs the hell out of me...especially when they slither...Ryffa had a field day laughing ofcourse...

Rainforest Music Festival

An annual event, it marks a lot of historical events personally for me.

RWMF 07' was a mixture of freedom and horrifying experience. Enjoyed myself tremendously before getting screamed at by a jerk of an ex who happens to be there with his gf when our official court date was in 2 days time. A typical case of 'I can but You cant'...well go eat shit! So tempted to upload pics of him and his gf (still is) here during the RWMF but i dont think his new wife would appreciate it =))

RWMF 08' was a Mudfest and was a total blast!! Despite the foul stench of the mud, it was FUN FUN FUN...until you see your bathroom the next day and the clothes you have to wash.

RWMF 09' was the best because the love of my life finally can join me for his first ever RWMF. He kept his promise and actually stayed for RWMF before flying back. Thank you sayang!! (although it was 2 years late...) Too bad the line up was a bit lame compared to previous RWMF and i guess the rain kinda dampen the whole festive atmosphere.

What would RWMF 2010 holds.....cant wait...***To find out, click link
